Cosmetic Surgery Procedure - Neck Lift

Neck Rejuvenation (Neck Lift Surgery)

Post operation advice for cosmetic neck surgery

The first one to two hours after surgery is spent in the recovery room. The first night may be spent in the hospital if a formal neck lift is carried out. Liposuction can be done as a day case procedure.

The following morning, all bandages and drains (if used) are removed. The surgical sites are inspected and cleaned and a lighter bandage is placed.
Instructions are given on how to care for the incisions until the stitches are removed in seven to ten days.

Most patients have no pain after a neck lift. Some describe the pain as minimal. Pain medication is prescribed, although this is usually unnecessary after the first day. Antibiotics are given for one week after surgery. Sleeping with your head elevated can significantly reduce any discomfort.
There may be mild to moderate bruising and swelling which last for approximately    1-2 weeks. Most patients return to work and social activities after two weeks. Heavy physical exercise and driving is avoided for three weeks following a neck lift.

The double chin or turkey gobbler neck is a common problem. We need to determine whether the problem is due to too much fat, too much skin or due to neck banding. Enlarge image
